why

Work With Me

Most business owners shopping for creative services don't need all of them. They need the right four or five, designed by someone who can see how those pieces connect. That is the gap I work in.

Branding Design Pro is a solo creative studio based in Omaha, Nebraska, led by me, Kenal Louis. I provide branding design, logo design, rebranding, packaging design, web design, and 3D product visualization for business owners launching something new or outgrowing what they have. I've spent 15 years designing for business clients, and every project still runs the same way: one-on-one, from the first conversation to the final files.

This page covers what each service includes, who it fits, what it costs to start, and how a project actually runs. If you already know what you need, the link in each section takes you to the full details.

What Are Creative Services?

Creative services are the professional design work that shapes how a business looks and the visual assets it uses to present itself: brand identity, logos, packaging, websites, product visuals, and motion. They turn a business idea into something a customer can see, hold, and recognize.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics describes the core of this work as creating visual concepts that “inspire, inform, and captivate consumers.” That definition is useful because it points at the purpose, not the software. A logo, a label, and a homepage are all visual concepts built to make a specific person understand and trust a specific business.

When people search for a creative services agency, they are usually picturing a large firm with separate departments for design, copy, media, and account management. Branding Design Pro is not that. It is a one-person studio, and the person you speak with on the first call is the person designing your work.

Design is also a business input, not a finishing coat. McKinsey tracked 300 public companies over five years and found that design leaders in the top quartile of its design index grew revenue 32 percentage points faster than their industry peers. That is a correlation across a large sample, not a promise attached to any single project. What it supports is narrower and still worth knowing: companies that treat design as a discipline tend to outperform companies that treat it as decoration.

I keep one distinction clear in my own practice. Art is expressive and personal. Design is calculated, built around a client's audience, market, and intent. I do both, and on a client project every creative choice has to serve a business purpose or it doesn't belong there.

What Creative Services Do I Offer?

I offer six core creative services: branding design, logo design, rebranding, packaging design, web design, and 3D product visualization, plus à la carte 3D, video, and patent illustration work. You can hire me for one of them or combine several into a single project.

Most lists of creative services examples mix design with photography, copywriting, and media buying. My list is narrower on purpose. These are the services I do myself, at a level I'm willing to put my name on.

Branding Design Pro Services

Branding Design

Branding design is the full system that makes your business recognizable everywhere it shows up. I build the logo variations, color palette, typography, and written guidelines, then extend them into the assets your business actually uses: packaging, social templates, stationery, a website, or merchandise.

Starting investment

Every package is scoped around your business instead of a fixed list. Branding packages start at $5,000.

Logo Design

Your logo is the mark everything else gets built on, so I design it from scratch. I research your market, sketch six to nine rough compositions by hand, refine the strongest directions in grayscale, then test color last.

Starting investment

You receive original concepts, variations, and files ready for print and digital use. Logo projects start at $1,000 and usually take two to three weeks.

Rebranding

A rebrand is right when your identity no longer matches your quality, your pricing, or where the business is going. I look at what customers already recognize and what has become limiting, then evolve or rebuild the logo, colors, and visual system around where you are heading. If your current mark is still doing its job, I will tell you.

Starting investment

Rebranding projects are quoted individually.

Packaging Design

Packaging is branding a customer holds in their hand, so it has to work on a shelf and in a thumbnail. I design labels, boxes, pouches, and retail presentation, planning the ingredient copy, directions, and required information into the layout instead of squeezing it in at the end.

Starting investment

You receive the applicable editable files when the project is complete. Packaging is quoted individually.

Web Design

Your website is where most people decide whether to trust your business. I start with discovery on your audience and positioning, then build the structure, layout, imagery, and creative direction from those answers, with a basic SEO structure underneath. New builds and full rebuilds both start the same way.

Starting investment

Website design starts at $3,000, is available by request, and is scoped individually.

3D Product Visualization

See and sell your product before it is manufactured. I model and render photorealistic products in Blender for crowdfunding campaigns, investor presentations, e-commerce listings, packaging previews, and marketing, showing any angle, color, or finish without a photo shoot.

Starting investment

Clients have used renders to promote and take pre-orders before inventory existed. 3D projects are quoted individually.

Branding Design

Branding design is the system that makes a business recognizable everywhere it shows up, not just on a business card.

A branding package can include logo design variations, a color palette and typography system, brand guidelines, social media templates, stationery design, packaging design, 3D product visualization, website design, promotional materials, and merchandise branding. Custom branding means I scope each package around what your business actually uses, not a fixed list.

A logo alone is rarely enough. Without a color system, type rules, and guidance on backgrounds and applications, the mark gets used in ways that quietly undercut it.

Consistency also shows up in the numbers: a Lucidpress study of more than 200 organizations associated consistent branding with revenue increases of up to 33%.

Evergreen Junk Removal is a good example of a full system at work. The South Florida business had no logo when it came to me. I designed the mark, rebranded the website, and carried the identity into printed and digital flyers, social and advertising graphics, infographics, and truck wrap designs.

Years later, customers in the Miami area recognized the trucks. That kind of recognition only happens when every piece comes from the same decisions.

More on how I build a complete system is on my brand identity design page.

Logo Design

Logo design is where most brand work starts, and it's where shortcuts show up fastest. I begin with research and inspiration boards, then present six to nine hand-drawn rough sketches to test structure and learn what you respond to. The strongest directions move into grayscale before any color, because a mark that doesn't hold up in black and white won't be saved by a palette. Creative logo design, done well, is mostly restraint. I create original concepts and do not intentionally copy another brand's design.

Jennifer St. Clair, a San Diego real estate agent, came to me with an AI-generated logo that felt more like a sticker than a brand. Partway through the project, her brand photoshoot pointed in a new direction, and I followed it instead of forcing the original idea. In her review, she wrote that the final logo “reflects exactly who I am and the brand I've been building.”

Logo projects start at $1,000, and most take two to three weeks. The full process is on my custom logo design page.

Rebranding

Rebranding makes sense when your company branding no longer matches your quality, your pricing, or where the business is going. It doesn't always mean starting over, and it doesn't always mean keeping what you have. The decision depends on what the current mark is actually doing for you.

When an old mark was improvised, AI-generated, or made by a friend as a favor, I usually recommend a fresh concept process instead of patching it. When a mark is working, I leave it alone. Naila Crawford, founder of Blessed Hands CBD, already had a logo she loved, so I built the packaging and product visuals around it rather than pushing a redesign.

Mad Hatter Auto shows the other end. The owners acquired a franchise with an identity that may have dated back to the 1960s or 1970s, and they wanted something unconventional that still read as professional. I developed a purple, gold, white, and gray direction that now carries through the logo, website, employee polos, hats, mechanic shirts, exterior banner, bay doors, and building colors. The shop looks nothing like a typical mechanic, and that was the point.

If a logo redesign is all you need, that can be scoped on its own. Rebranding projects are quoted individually.

Let's talk about your vision for your business.

Packaging Design

Packaging design is branding that someone holds in their hand, so it has to work at arm's length and at shelf distance at the same time. In an Ipsos survey, 72% of American adults said package design often influences what they buy, and 67% said the packaging materials do.

I've worked with Johnny Jiggs, a fishing tackle shop in Pompano Beach, Florida, since 2020. I created the icon used on the jigs the shop packages and sells, then developed multiple package designs and brand color updates that replaced packaging that had been bland and visually inconsistent. Some of those concepts used nonconventional box structures and transparent film elements. The same identity carries into in-store banners, front-desk branding, and a product catalog.

For Blessed Hands CBD, I designed a multi-flavor gummy pouch line, each flavor with its own fruit imagery and consistent logo placement across the set. Packaging projects are quoted individually, and you can see more examples on my product packaging design page.

Web Design

Web design should start with positioning, not layout. A website is often the first place someone decides whether to trust your business, and if the site looks basic while your service is priced like a premium offering, that gap shows up before anyone picks up the phone. Research on first impressions found that people form visual judgments of a web page in as little as 50 milliseconds.

Bliss Limo, a South Florida luxury transportation company, had a site that carried the right information and still signaled nothing about luxury. I started with discovery on the audience and positioning, then built the site from scratch: structure, layouts, licensed imagery, creative direction, and a basic local SEO structure. I also refreshed the logo suite and developed brand patterns to carry through the site. The owner, Gregory, has told me he receives compliments on the site and that it generates leads. He also works with a marketing agency to scale, so I count the website as one contributing piece, not the whole engine.

Of all the creative web services a business can buy, a template with new colors is the one most likely to undersell it. Website design starts at $3,000 and is available by request, and every project is scoped individually. Full details, including what is and isn't included, are on my website design page.

3D Product Visualization

3D product visualization lets you see and sell a product in photorealistic detail before it is manufactured. I build 3D models and renders in Blender for crowdfunding campaigns, investor presentations, e-commerce listings, packaging previews, and pre-orders.

Large brands made this shift years ago. By 2014, 75% of IKEA's catalog was computer-generated imagery rather than photography, largely to avoid shipping prototype furniture to photo shoots. On the e-commerce side, Rebecca Minkoff reported that shoppers who interacted with a product in 3D were 44% more likely to add it to their cart. Those are one company's numbers, not a benchmark, but they show why product brands keep investing in 3D.

Deeper Than Roots, a Virginia haircare brand, used my 3D product renders for pre-launch promotion and pre-orders, and launched at a convention with the full identity and product visuals in place. 3D projects are quoted individually. See the details on my 3D product visualization page.

À La Carte Creative Services

Some projects need one specific piece rather than a full engagement. These services are available on their own, and returning clients can add them to earlier work:

  • 3D modeling: accurate digital models of products or concepts, built for rendering, animation, or presentation. More on my 3D design page.
  • 3D rendering: photorealistic stills for listings, ads, and packaging previews. See my product renderings.
  • 3D product animation: animated product reveals, rotations, and feature demonstrations. See my product animation work.
  • 3D architecture visualization: interior and exterior renders for projects and developments. See my architecture visualization page.
  • Video editing: editing for product videos and promotional content, often paired with 3D animation.
  • 3D product design: concept development and modeling for physical products.
  • Patent illustration: technical drawings of an invention for use in a patent application. I prepare the drawings; the filing itself stays with you or your patent attorney.

Why Hire One Designer for Your Whole Brand?

One designer across your brand means every asset comes from the same decisions, so your logo, packaging, website, and product visuals read as one brand instead of several vendors' interpretations of it. That consistency is where trust comes from.

Edelman's 2025 brand trust research, based on 15,000 people in 15 countries, found that trust now matters as much as quality and price as a purchase consideration. Customers build that trust through repetition: the same colors, the same type, the same tone, every time they see you.

The Blessed Hands CBD engagement shows what this looks like in practice. One project covered the gummy packaging, social media post templates, a product animation advertisement, and the e-commerce website. Because one person designed all of it, the pouch, the ad, and the store page come from the same visual decisions.

Working across disciplines only helps when it's earned. Brand design, websites, and 3D are connected fields, but surface familiarity with all of them is not competence in any of them. It took years of client work, training, and trial and error before I was willing to offer them together.

The alternative has hidden costs. Low-cost design often comes with weak communication, generic templates, and unclear ownership. I've seen ad creative resold to competing businesses in the same market, which confuses customers and erases the difference the client paid for. I provide a one-on-one custom design process rather than a crowdsourced concept marketplace, and original work is the baseline, not an upgrade. Whether you're comparing me to a creative branding company or a freelance platform, the question that matters is the same: who is actually doing the work?

Which Industries Do I Create Branding For?

I create branding for product and service businesses across many industries, and six make up a large share of my work: restaurants, haircare, real estate, skin care, beauty, and jewelry. Each one puts different pressure on a brand, so the design decisions change with the category.

Restaurant Branding

A restaurant brand has to read from across the street and across a table.

Signage, menus, cups, bags, and social posts all carry it, often at very different sizes.

For Miami Seaside Cafe, I built a coastal identity with custom typography and a tropical color palette, then carried it into signage, packaging, and social media templates so the brand feels like the same place wherever a customer meets it.

Real Estate Branding

Real estate branding is personal branding with a license number attached.

The mark has to sit comfortably next to the agent's photography, on yard signs, and alongside a brokerage's own identity.

Jennifer St. Clair, an agent with eXp Realty of California, needed a logo that matched the direction her brand photoshoot uncovered, so the identity was built around her photography instead of against it.

Hair Product Branding

A hair product label might be four inches tall and still have to carry the brand, the product name, the benefit, the ingredient story, and the directions. Deeper Than Roots, a haircare brand led by entrepreneur and CEO Angel, came to me after losing contact with a prior designer.

I replaced a literal side portrait with an abstract seed symbol surrounded by forms that suggest roots flowing upward, refined the green tones she already preferred, and developed the product labels and 3D renders for the launch.

Skin Care Branding

Skin care shoppers read labels closely, so the packaging has to feel credible before a single ingredient is read.

For Mylk N Honey, I created a clean, organic look with honeycomb motifs and soft gold accents, then carried it through the logo, packaging, and marketing materials so the whole line reads as natural and gentle.

Beauty Branding

Beauty branding lives on color, finish, and restraint. A fragrance bottle or a cosmetics box has to look worth its price before anyone opens it.

For Mardo VerO's Blue 24 fragrance, I designed the label and packaging presentation around a dramatic blue palette, with deliberate logo placement and one cohesive color identity across the bottle and box.

Jewelry Branding

Jewelry buyers judge quality at a glance, which puts most of the weight on typography and restraint.

For Yzadore Vincent Diamond Store, I designed an elegant wordmark with an integrated diamond symbol and refined typography, balancing classic luxury with modern refinement for a high-end clientele.

More Industries I Design For

Beyond these six, I've designed for construction and real estate development (a full website rebuild for Noah's Ark Construction), beverage and spirits (bottle label and box design for Sail to Monaco white rum), luxury fashion and footwear (ad design for Nico Mura), CBD products, automotive, luxury transportation, home services, outdoor and sporting goods, psychology and professional services, music and entertainment, gaming and esports, and podcast and personal branding. The category changes the constraints. The process of getting to the right answer doesn't.

Creative Services vs. Marketing Services: What's the Difference?

Creative services produce the brand and its assets; marketing services decide where those assets run, who sees them, and how the budget gets spent. A designer builds the logo, the packaging, and the ad creative. A marketer buys the media, manages the campaigns, and reports on the results.

Creative services compared with marketing services
Comparison Creative services Marketing services
Main question What should the brand look like and say? Who should see it, where, and how often?
Typical output Logo, identity system, packaging, website design, product visuals, ad creative Media plans, ad campaigns, ongoing SEO, email programs, reporting
Judged by Clarity, consistency, and fit with the audience Reach, clicks, leads, and cost per result
Timeline A defined project with a finish line Usually ongoing, month to month

The line matters because many businesses hire one expecting the other. I'm a designer, and I keep my professional focus there. I do not provide ongoing marketing execution, paid ad management, advertising spend, or ongoing SEO services. What I do is design with marketing use in mind. The ad designs I created for Johnny Jiggs' Google and Facebook campaigns followed the brand's guidelines, and every website I build gets a basic SEO structure so it's ready for whoever runs the marketing.

Effective creative digital marketing needs both halves. Strong assets give a marketing budget something worth showing, and a marketing plan gives those assets somewhere to go.

It also explains the structural difference between a solo studio and a larger creative marketing company. According to the BLS, about 20% of graphic designers are self-employed, working directly with clients rather than through an agency's account team. That is the model I work in.

How Much Do Creative Services Cost?

My branding package projects start at $5,000, logo projects start at $1,000, and standalone website design starts at $3,000. I quote every project individually after a scope discussion, so you see the full investment before any work begins.

Starting investment by service

Logo design Starts at $1,000
Website design Starts at $3,000
Rebranding Quoted individually
Packaging design Quoted individually
3D product visualization Quoted individually
À la carte 3D, video, and patent illustration Quoted individually

Every project is quoted individually after a scope discussion, so you see the full investment before work begins. I don't bill hourly or work on retainer.

For context on the wider market, Clutch's verified client reviews put most branding projects between $10,000 and $49,999, with average rates of $100 to $149 an hour. Most logo design projects reviewed there come in under $10,000. Those figures lean toward agencies carrying larger teams and overhead.

I don't bill hourly, and I don't work on retainer. Each project gets a written quote based on what it includes. The things that move that number most:

  • The number of deliverables and how many applications they need, such as label sizes, flavors, or pages
  • For websites, e-commerce or catalog complexity, custom functionality, and integrations
  • Copywriting and content creation, animation and motion assets, licensed stock photography, or stock footage
  • Premium plugins, software, tools, or other paid resources

Some things sit outside a design project unless a proposal says otherwise: your domain name and hosting, ongoing SEO services, paid advertising or ad spend, professional photography, and ongoing website maintenance. Those stay yours to own or hire separately, and I'll tell you up front which ones your project touches.

If you're earlier in the process, my small business branding packages page breaks down what a typical package covers.

How a Creative Project Runs, From First Call to Final Files

Every project follows the same sequence, whether it's a single logo or a full brand with packaging and a website.

  1. Consultation call. You tell me about the business, the audience, and the timeline. I tell you which assets the project actually needs.
  2. Agreement and deposit. Project details, deliverables, and usage rights are clarified in writing before work begins.
  3. Discovery call. I ask about your audience's age range, demographics, and psychographics, why you're starting now, your vision, any existing concept or tagline, the assets you need, and your industry. If you don't have a concept yet, you and I build one together.
  4. Research and inspiration boards. Discovery becomes visual direction before anything gets drawn.
  5. Rough sketches. Six to nine hand-drawn compositions to test structure and learn what you respond to.
  6. Grayscale prototypes. The strongest directions get refined without color, so the structure has to carry itself.
  7. Color and application. Color is tested on the surfaces the brand will actually live on: labels, signs, screens, and packaging.
  8. Revisions. Unlimited revisions through a feedback loop of conversations, visual options, and professional guidance until you have a direction you feel confident choosing.
  9. Delivery. Final files are delivered digitally, including applicable editable files such as AI, PSD, and PDF, plus a brand guide with typeface names, color codes, and logo-use guidance when your scope includes one.
  10. After delivery. I keep project files and resend them at no charge if you ever lose them. If your IP attorney needs a design adjustment during trademark registration, such as a name change, I generally make that adjustment at no additional charge.

I set a defined deadline at the start of every project. Logos typically take two to three weeks. Branding packages usually take three to four months, depending on the scope and how quickly feedback comes back.

Around two months is possible, but that pace is aggressive, and rushed projects rarely match the quality of ones given proper time. The reasoning behind each step is laid out in my design process guide.

The Designer Behind Branding Design Pro

I'm Kenal Louis. I started Branding Design Pro in 2018, and I've spent 15 years designing for business clients, with more than 25 years of drawing and visual art behind that. I take on roughly four to six clients a month, which is deliberate. It keeps me personally involved in every project instead of handing the work to someone else.

A few things that shaped how I design:

  • I have been credited on Wikipedia for designing the single cover for Rebecca Black's “Friday.” That cover was part of the logo, website, and cover work I did for Ark Music Factory in 2010 under my previous business, Kenalsworld.
  • I spent about 18 months as a graphic designer in sculptor Matthew Placzek's Omaha studio, creating brochures, banners, illustrations, and project presentations under his art direction.
  • My digital illustration has been featured in Afropunk and Kalblut magazines.

Clients sometimes describe me as a branding consultant, and part of the work is advisory: explaining what works, why it works, and when a stronger option exists. I don't dictate the process, and I don't take feedback as an insult. You hire me for judgment, and the work still has to serve your goals.

I use AI the way I use any other tool: to speed up production, never to replace judgment. Used without design experience behind it, AI output tends to look generic, and generic is the one thing a brand can't afford. The decisions about what your business should look like, and why, stay with a person who understands your audience.

“He was also beyond helpful with giving advice and guidance in areas of this project that I wasn't well versed.” Jessied Boyce, saxophonist, Atlanta
