What Happens After Your Branding Package Is Delivered?
You receive access to the applicable editable project files, such as AI, PSD, and PDF files, after completion, along with your brand guide. The relationship does not end at handoff.
A few specifics worth knowing:
- I offer unlimited revisions and work toward a client-satisfactory design outcome.
- I keep project files. If you lose yours to a device failure or need them again years later, I resend them at no fee.
- If you are pursuing trademark registration with an IP attorney and a design adjustment is needed, such as a name change, I generally make that adjustment at no additional charge. I am not an attorney and do not provide legal advice, trademark clearance, or any assessment of whether a name is available or protectable. That is your attorney's work.
- Returning clients can add à la carte design work later, and I work with them on pricing.
What is not included, unless it is specifically written into your proposal: purchasing or owning your domain name, purchasing or managing hosting, ongoing SEO services, paid advertising or ad spend, professional photography, ongoing website maintenance, and e-commerce inventory, shipping, or merchant account setup.
You own your domain and hosting. That keeps the two most important business assets under your control, and I will give you recommendations and alternatives if you are not sure what to buy.
How the Branding Process Actually Works
Once the agreement is signed and the deposit is paid, the work starts with a conversation, not a moodboard.
Discovery call. I ask about your target audience's age range, demographics, and psychographics. Why you are starting now. What your vision is, whether you already have a concept or tagline, what assets and collateral you need, and what your industry expects. If you do not have a concept yet, you and I build one together.
Research and inspiration. I use what came out of discovery to research the market and build inspiration boards before drawing anything.
Sketching. Usually six to nine hand-drawn rough compositions. Rough on purpose. I am testing structures and learning what you respond to, and it is much cheaper to learn that in pencil.
Grayscale prototyping. A mark that only works in color is not finished. Grayscale first.
Color testing. Color last, once the structure holds.
System build. The approved logo becomes the basis for the identity, and the rest of the package extends from there.
Throughout, I explain what works and why, but I do not dictate. You hired me for judgment, and the work still has to serve your goals. Miscommunication is what wrecks design projects, so I stay reachable by phone, text, Zoom, Google Meet, or screen share, whichever you actually use.
I also set a real deadline. Projects without one drift, lose momentum, and get harder to finish, which matters most when you already have an audience waiting.
